Approving Work Authorization No. 2020-01A with LJA Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $68,000.00 for right-of-way services associated with the Weiss Lane/Pecan Street Water Line project.
Summary
On March 10, 2020, the City Council approved a professional engineering contract with CP&Y, Inc. for Design, Bidding and Construction Phase Services of the Weiss Lane/Pecan Street Water Line project, identified as Project 4 and Project 6 in the adopted 2020 Water Master Plan (2020 WMP).
The purpose of the project is to construct water transmission mains to meet current and future water demands as recommended in the 2020 WMP. The project includes the design and construction of approximately 12,700 LF of 36”/42” water line along Weiss Ln. and to the west side of SH 130 for a Central Pressure Zone loop (Project 6 in 2020 WMP) and approximately 7,700 LF of water line to convert the East PZ to the new 800’ PZ (Project 4 in 2020 WMP). The proposed project alignment requires the services of a Right-of-Way Agent. The proposed work authorization by LJA shall provide land services to support the City in execution of the Weiss Lane/Pecan Street Water Line project. Services shall include:
· Title Research and Procurement
· Presenting Offers
· Negotiation and Closing of all types of land rights
- Right of Way
- Temporary Construction and Permanent Easement
- Property Acquisition
- Condemnation Support
· Other services may also be included, as directed by City
- Assistance with Open Houses
- Presentations
- Other Real Estate and Property work as needed
The proposed services was previously identified within the CP&Y contract schedule (attached) and this action is requested to memorialize LJA as the City-Selected subconsultant to be included as part of the team for the Weiss Lane/Pecan Street Water Line project.
