Summary

The proposed annexation consists of a total of approximately 56.24 acres out of a 96.341-acre tract of land located along Cameron Road east of the intersection of Weiss Lane and Pecan Street / Cameron Road and west of 1849 Park, within the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction. The remainder of the 96.341-acre tract of land was previously annexed in 2007 per Ordinance No. 899-07-08-14. The subject property is contiguous to properties within the City limits and therefore is eligible for voluntary annexation in accordance with state law. 

 

Pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code (TLGC) Section 43.0672, the City entered into a written agreement with the owners of land in the area for the provision of City services on January 19, 2021.

 

City Attorney has approved the ordinance as to form.

 

Prior City Council Action

On January 12, 2021, City Council approved the post-annexation provision of services agreement.

On February 23, 2021, City Council conducted a public hearing and approved the annexation ordinance on first reading.

 

Deadline for City Council Action

Consider approval on second reading of the annexation ordinance on March 9, 2021.
