Approving a resolution authorizing the City Manager or authorized designee the authority to execute contracts as approved in the budget in an amount up to $50,000, and for contracts specifically approved in the authorized purchase list approved by City Council in the annual budget in the maximum amount of $200,000.

The City Charter allows City Council to establish the authorization for the City Manager to have authority to sign contracts.

The City Manager was authorized to execute agreements not to exceed $50,000 for services effecting projects in 2008. This resolution expands the signature authority to include all contracts and/or agreements that have been approved in the budget up to $50,000. This resolution also provides authority for contracts and agreement up to $200,000 contained in a list of authorized purchases that will be presented to Council for approval in the budget process. This repeals all previous resolutions in conflict of this resolution.
Prior City Council Action
The City Council discussed the item at their regular meeting on February 9, 2021 and requested that the item be brought forward for continued discussion at the February 23, 2021 Worksession with consideration at the February 23, 2021 Regular meeting. At the February 23, 2021 Regular meeting, the Council indicated more discussion was needed. The City Council discussed at their worksession on March 23, 2021 and indicated action to be considered on April 13, 2021.
