This item is included on the agenda to address insufficient sight distance caused by vehicles parking along E. Pflugerville Parkway.
Vehicles have been parking in the diagonally striped area on East Pflugerville Parkway at the NE quadrant of the intersection of East Pflugerville Parkway and Colorado Sand Drive limiting visibility for drivers entering East Pflugerville Parkway from Colorado Sand Drive. Responding to an inquiry from a resident, City staff visited the site and performed an analysis to determine if a 'No Parking' sign was warranted.
Based on the analysis, it has been determined that vehicles parking in the diagonally striped area are reducing sight distance and creating a hazard for motorists making turning movements while entering East Pflugerville Parkway from Colorado Sand Drive.
The ordinance creates a 'No Parking' zone in this location to allow for signage to be placed and enforcement to address the hazards to the public.
