Discussion regarding City aquatic facilities and future planning.
Summary
This item has been included on the agenda to allow for discussion of City aquatic facilities. In the attached slides you will find information provided to the Facilities Subcommittee with regard to the current status of our aquatic facilities, including the impact from the winter storm. Also included per the request of the subcommittee is a map of the City and its ETJ showing all aquatic facilities within our community, including HOAs and apartment complexes, to help better understand the level of aquatic access currently provided.
Staff recommends the appropriation of funding for an Aquatic Facility Assessment as part of an overall Parks Master Plan. This plan would help inform City Council’s decisions regarding the future of the City’s aquatic facilities, including possible alternatives to Gilleland Creek Pool, within the context of all parks amenities and services to ensure desired service levels are met now and in the future.
