Summary
The City's Charter, Section 9.04(a), allows for amendments to the budget for transfers of unencumbered appropriations between departments and supplemental appropriations when revenues are available. During the fiscal year, it may be necessary to amend the approved budget to allow for expenditures and revenues that were not anticipated at the time of budget approval.
General Fund and Utility Fund maintenance and operations expenditures have realized additional cost in excess of funding appropriated in the adopted FY21 budget. The presented budget amendment requests additional appropriations to cover the expenditures with identified funding sources.
General Fund: $2,344,989
Utility Fund: $127,800
Capital Fund (General Fund CIP) at the time of adoption did not include the additional projects later approved by voters. The presented amendment increases the appropriated funds to include the three voter approved propositions from the November, 2020 election.
