Approving a resolution confirming the policy direction received during the July 30, 2021 City Council worksession regarding the Aspire Pflugerville 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
Summary
A comprehensive plan is a document created through a process of community engagement, which determines community goals and aspirations that are utilized by the City of Pflugerville to express public policy initiatives regarding land use, community character, parks and recreation, neighborhood vitality, economic development, transportation, utilities, community, facilities and public service.
During the Council worksession held on July 30th, Council provided guidance for several areas of the Comprehensive Plan. This resolution is presented for action to formalize the guidance staff received from Council during the worksession. The policies provided within this resolution will then be furthered into action items for consideration by the Council at the time of adoption of the Comprehensive Plan.
Prior City Council Action
Council approved the agreement with of Freese and Nichols for the Comprehensive Plan on May 26, 2020.
Council appointed a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee on September 8, 2020.
Council approved the Vision and Guiding Principles for the plan on January 12, 2021.
Council approved the amended agreement with Freese and Nichols for the Comprehensive Plan on July 27, 2021.
Council held a worksession regarding the Comprehensive Plan on July 30, 2021. No action was taken.
Projected Future Action
Council is anticipated to act on the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan by March of 2022.
