Summary
The City of Pflugerville City Charter and Local Government Code (ยง102.0065) require that a public hearing be held on the proposed fiscal year budget before it is adopted. The attached notice regarding the public hearing was published on the City website (www.pflugervilletx.gov) beginning July 28, 2021 and will continue until the adoption of the budget. The notice was also published in the Austin American Statesman on July 31, 2021.
Exhibit A of the budget ordinance is the Summary of the FY22 Proposed Budget. Copies of this document and the proposed budget, which was published on July 22, 2020 for public inspection as required by Texas Local Government Code 102.005, are available for public inspection at City Hall, the Pflugerville Public Library, and on the City website at www.pflugervilletx.gov/budget.
Based on the certified property values received from the Travis and Williamson Central Appraisal Districts, the Travis County Tax Office has calculated the Voter Approval Rate at $0.5105/$100 valuation. The FY22 budget proposed for adoption includes a rate of $0.4970/$100 valuation. A public hearing on the tax rate was held earlier in this meeting and adoption will occur in a separate item following adoption of the budget.
All required notices have been published. The required public hearing was conducted on August 10, 2021 prior to the adoption of the budget scheduled for tonight. The City Attorney's Office has reviewed this ordinance and has approved it as to form.
Deadline for City Council Action
The FY22 budget must be approved prior to the approval of the property tax rate which has been advertised for Council consideration at this Regular Meeting.
