Approving an agreement with Star Sweeping USA, Inc. for Citywide Street Sweeping Services in the amount not to exceed $100,000 for fiscal year 2022 and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.
Summary
The proposed agreement being recommended is for annual street sweeping services for fiscal year 2022. The terms and conditions of the agreement are for an initial one (1) year term, with the option for two (2) subsequent one (1) year terms. Staff recently bid Citywide street sweeping services for the remaining of FY21 with the intent to bring the annual agreement to Council for consideration at the October 12, 2021 Council meeting. Upon bid closing, the City received two bids with Star Sweeping as the low bidder.
Historically, the City has utilized street sweeping on an as needed basis. The Street Sweeping Program now being established in addition to approved funding would allow for Citywide street sweeping services to be performed on a quarterly basis as well as in an as-needed capacity for spot sweeping following special events such as weather events, City events, or other occurrences.
Residential Roadways to occur Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Arterial Roadways to occur Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 pm - 7:00 am
Upon staff review of the bid submitted by Star Sweeping USA, Inc., staff is confident in the ability of Star Sweeping, USA, Inc. to provide the needed services for the City.
