Approving a construction contract with Patin Construction LLC, in the amount of $281,931 associated with the Community Development Block Program (CDBG) Frost Circle Roadway Project, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
Frost Circle was identified in the City’s 2021 CDBG Annual Action Plan under the Non-Housing Community Development category. The CDBG goal outcome indicator is “Public facility or Infrastructure Activities other than Low/Moderate Income Housing Benefit” with $210,000 fund allocation for design and construction.
The goal with CDBG funds is to have them spent within the grant award year which began on October 1, 2021 and ends in September 30, 2022. Anticipated completion date by December 1, 2022 is expected.
Council approved the design and engineering services for Frost Circle Roadway Improvements at the May 24, 2022 Council meeting. Staff subsequently was able to complete design and construction bidding for this project.
The proposed improvements encompass the reconstruction of an existing un-paved (gravel) roadway that is approximately 252 feet long with a 27-foot typical section using flexible (asphalt) pavement with ribbon curb and a cul-de-sac within the current Right-of-Way (ROW). Additionally, the existing driveways will be replaced with residential concrete driveways.
