Summary
This agenda item is to authorize the third renewal of the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for Public Health Services between the City of Austin and the City of Pflugerville. This is the third renewal of the initial term that began in January 2020. The first renewal was approved on August 25, 2020 and the second renewal was approved on September 14, 2021 which extended the agreement to end on September 30, 2022. This renewal will further extend the agreement to begin on October 1, 2022 and end on September 30, 2023. The terms of the initial agreement permit the parties to renew the agreement for up to three successive one-year terms and this will be the third renewal.
Enhanced services via this agreement include utilization of Austin's 311 system as a conduit for Pflugerville residents and customers to register concerns associated with food safety and food establishment issues as well as issues related to public pools and spas. Through this partnership we have also established improved communications with Pflugerville and Austin Public Health, beyond the terms of the agreement, with regard to coronavirus issues, and vector controls to mitigate for West Nile Disease.
