Approving a professional services agreement with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc. in the amount of $213,650.00 for professional engineering services associated with the Pecan Street Intersection Improvements Projects.

Summary
Professional engineering services for Pecan Street (FM 1825) at several locations including Pecan Street at Biltmore Avenue; Pecan Street at FM 685 (Dessau Road); and Pecan Street at Heatherwilde Boulevard. The scope is broken into tasks based on needs for each intersection project.

The professional engineering services for Pecan Street at Biltmore Avenue will include final design, bid phase for Corridor Analysis and Traffic Signal installation. The scope of work includes design services to analyze the corridor between Biltmore to SH 130 southbound service road determining the lane configuration and median access with the addition of a traffic signal at the Biltmore intersection. The Engineer will prepare roadway plan/profile sheets, cross sections, traffic signal design, driveway modifications, pavement striping plans, an engineer’s estimate, etc. for bidding. Construction administration and Materials Testing will be added after Bidding as a Supplemental Agreement. The tasks associated with this project include:

Task 1: Pecan Street Corridor Roadway Design Services
Task 2: Pecan Street Corridor Analysis and Traffic Signal Design

The second intersection includes analysis of Pecan Street at FM 685 (Dessau Road), which includes professional engineering services analysis to determine the optimal intersection configuration of Pecan Street and Dessaur Road. This study will include analyzing ways to improve safety and efficiency of the intersection in order to determine necessary traffic improvement project(s) for construction in FY 2020 budget year.
